Rapper Jay-Z Accuses Americans Of Racist Hiring, Then Takes This Damning Photo
Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z recently went into a freestyle on stage about the current racial turmoil and how black men aren’t being given jobs or even a chance in general. This is the same guy who was paying people’s bail to free criminals protesters in Ferguson and Baltimore.
On the surface, no big deal. Celebrities say stupid things all the time. So much so that the eyebrow-raise occurs only when they say something intelligent.
In this instance, however, Jay-Z is being blasted on social media for hypocrisy after a recent photo surfaced. You won’t believe who’s in this picture…
Wait, did we say “in?” We meant that you won’t believe who’s not in the picture. Namely, any other black person.
Granted, his music streaming service, Tidal, has other problems. But what’s missing in this picture? The New Pittsburgh Courier reports:
However, an image has been circulating online that has led some to wonder if Jay-Z is truly committed to hiring black people. The image features he and Beyonce taking a picture with a large staff that appears to be 100% white. Critics charge that Jay-Z’s recent on-stage rant about racism was a ploy to get the backing of the black community for his Tidal streaming service without him taking measurable steps toward true diversity within his company…
Jay-Z’s supporters claim that with the company being originally based in Sweden, there are simply no black people to hire. But with Tidal doing business around the globe, employees from a multitude of countries would likely be involved. So, if he chose to surpass the 103,000 black people in the country of Sweden, there would surely be others willing to move in order to take the job.
To be fair, the photo was taken in Norway, where there is a considerable lack of persons of color – is that the right term now? – to hire in the first place. Very few countries have the diverse color palette of America. Because we’re racist.
We also agree that African-American unemployment is a huge issue, though one caused by the liberal policies of elected officials Jay-Z supports. See… Detroit and Baltimore.
Truth is, if we were outraged every time a celebrity acted like a hypocrite, we’d never stop being outraged.
All that said, manipulating an already tense situation to make a quick buck when you have the power to create real and meaningful change? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
