On Tuesday, Presidential candidate Ben Carson made strong statements about the treatment of black Americans. The agenda of liberal politicians and the media is pervasive in the black community, and Carson says that American blacks will soon see the manipulation for what it is.
“I think American blacks, over the course of this next year, will begin to see that they’ve been manipulated very, very largely,” Carson told talk show host Mike Gallagher. “People telling them what they’re supposed to think and what they’re supposed to say.”
“More and more I’m finding (they) are thinking for themselves and recognizing what really works for them and for their communities,” he continued, saying his campaign is opening eyes and creating new attitudes. “I believe that is a dynamic that is in the process of changing.”
Carson said the media plays an inordinately powerful opinion-molding role among some groups. The media will “take advantage of low-information individuals and people who won’t investigate things for themselves.”
“I long for the day when the media begins to understand that the reason that they’re the only business protected by the Constitution is because it was intended that they were on the side of the people,” he said
Carson said manipulation by the media and politicians has taken the form of creating divisions among Americans.
“One of the major things that is threatening our nation right now is divisiveness on all levels: gender, race, income, age, religion, they’re driving wedges between the people,” he said in response to a question about the controversy over the Black Lives Matter campaign.
“As a wise man once said, ‘A house divided against itself cannot stand,’” Carson added.
“We’re called the United States of America not the divided states of America,” he said. “And we need a commander in chief who understands that and tries to promote our unity and not our divisions.”
