‘Coming Soon’: Chilling Messages Spotted All Over The Streets Of One U.S. State
As racially motivated protesters across the U.S. continue to perpetrate – or at least endorse – violent acts against law enforcement personnel, one agency in Maryland is taking seriously the recent threats made against local officers.
The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday that someone painted graffiti on three walls of a retail center in Anne Arundel County. Each time, the violent message was the same: “Killing AAC Cops Coming Soon.”

A separate – but potentially related – act of vandalism occurred near a local school. The suspect in this crime painted a shorter phrase – “Kill Cops” – on a sign just before the school day began Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Timothy Altomare acknowledged the increased threat his officers and police in general are facing in the current social climate. “Every police officer,” he said, “from the chief of police to a police recruit in the academy, knows that they are always in harm’s way, and willingly take on that burden to protect the citizens we serve.”
Local officials echoed Altomare’s appreciative words toward the law enforcement community while committing resources to finding the person or people responsible for the recent vandalism.
“Our police put their lives on the line to protect our citizens,” said County Executive Steve Schuh, “and we stand with them against this cowardly attempt at intimidation.”
Reports of similar threats plastered on public walls across the nation have been reported in recent months.
