Could Hillary Clinton possibly select her husband and former President Bill Clinton as her running mate?
That’s what she joked recently, although she was quick to exclude him as a serious contender for the Vice President job when she said to Extra’s Mario Lopez:
“He would be good, but he’s not eligible; under the Constitution, he has served his two terms and I think the argument would be as vice president it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position — at least that’s what I’ve been told.”
Would a Clinton team effort in the White House be as scandal-ridden as their first go at it?
Bill Clinton’s two terms as President contained such notable dramas as the Whitewater allegations, Travelgate, Chinagate and the Monica Lewinsky affair.
Hillary has her own set of scandals giving her problems, including ethical accusations against the Clinton Foundation. Since she left office as Secretary of State, the Clinton Foundation has received donations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
Clinton’s often exorbitant demands for speaking, including a $300,000 minimum fee per speech, the use of a private jet such as the $39 million Gulfstream G450, and being set up in presidential suites, are now pressing against her.
Finally, the email scandal concerning her use of a private email address to conduct official Department of State business has been critical in bringing down her once perceived “inevitable” front-runner status for the Democratic presidential nomination.
