The new Hillary Clinton campaign ad that tells victims of sexual assault that they have a right to be believed is being criticized as hypocrisy at its worst.
“She’s a lying pig. I cannot believe that she had the gall to make that commercial. How dare she?” responded Kathleen Willey who in 1993 accused Hillary’s husband, President Bill Clinton, of sexually assaulting her.
“She believed what happened for sure,” Willey said. “She just chose to ignore the plight of all of his victims, thus enabling him to continue to abuse and rape women in the future.”
“She’s a money-hungry hypocritical witch who will do anything for money,” Willey said.
Others contrasted the tone of Clinton’s ad with the reality of her behavior.
“I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault,” the ad said. “Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have a right to be heard. You have a right to be believed. We’re with you.”
Megyn Kelly listed reasons to doubt the sincerity of that message, citing Juanita Broderick, who in 1999 claimed Bill Clinton had raped her in 1978, and Paula Jones, who had sued Bill Clinton for sexual harassment and assault.
“The Clinton crimes against women are almost too long to catalog, and the couple’s slimy supporters’ ability to defend them by smearing their accusers is legendary. But she has the indecency to release a social media posting claiming a woman who claims rape has ‘the right to be believed?”” Kelly wrote.
“It’s the hypocrisy that’s galling,” she wrote.
