Sarah Palin wants to put the federal Department of Energy out of business. But first, she wants Donald Trump to put her in a Cabinet position where she can do just that.
“I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby … And if I were head of that, I would get rid of it,” she said Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “And I would let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their space.”
Palin said before putting herself out of a job, she would change the way Washington views energy issues.
“It would be a short-term job but … it would be really great to have someone who knows energy, and is pro-responsible development to be in charge,” Palin said.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate would be welcome in a Trump administration, Donald Trump said.
“I’d love that because she really is somebody that knows what’s happening,” Trump said. “And she’s a special person. And I think people know that. And she’s got a following that’s unbelievable.”
Palin stressed that as the former governor of resource-rich Alaska, she has extensive knowledge of “oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind’s use, instead of relying on unfriendly foreign nations for us to import their resources.”
Asked on CNN if she took climate change seriously, Palin asserted her independence from the crowd.
“I take changes in the weather, the cyclical changes that the globe has undergone since the beginning of time, I take it seriously,” she said. “But I’m not going to blame those changes in the weather on man’s footprint. Obama was up here looking at the glaciers, and pointing out a glacier that was receding. Well, there are other glaciers though that are growing up here. He didn’t highlight that.”
Although, during his Alaskan jaunt, Obama talked about taking climate change seriously, Palin said it is in fact the president who is not taking major issues seriously. She jabbed Obama for his attitude to Russia and China, both of which have increased their military presence near Alaska.
“How about while he was up here, he, as a president, carried a big stick, instead of a selfie stick?” she said, mocking Obama’s picture-taking during his trip.

Don’t miss the Dc rally. It’s day after tomorrow.
Trump’s going to Washington on Wednesday and will be rocking the boat there. Palin’s joining him and so are Mark Levin and Glenn Beck. This is dynamite-on-steroids! It might be hundreds of thousands. It might top half a million like the MLK rally back in the days at the same spot at the US Capitol. Everybody’s shutting up about it. Why? It’s time to spread this news everywhere before this happens. Help please everybody!
