Irving Texas Mayor, Beth Van Duyne, recently appeared on Gleck Beck’s The Blaze TV, where she noted that Ahmed Mohamed’s parents have repeatedly refused to meet with city officials, and refused to release records exonerating the police. She also said that Obama may have tweeted “cool clock, kid” before pictures of the clock had been released.
Van Duyne stated:
We never even got a call from anybody at the White House asking to verify any of that information. I don’t think the picture of the hoax bomb was even released before he tweeted ‘cool clock kid.’
On the same topic, she said she was “shocked” to see Obama tweet in such a circumstance and that, “It seems to be an underlying habit that [President Obama] is going to second guess police officers without any kind of information.”
Van Duyne also noted how the parents refused to meet with city officials. “At the exact same time they were supposed to be meeting with us, they were on their front lawn with a press conference,” she said.
Mohamed’s family also refused to release records which would have helped exonerate the police, according to Van Duyne. She stated: “As a juvenile, they cannot release those records. The school district, a number of times, has asked the family to release the records so that you can have the balanced story out there. The family is ignoring the request from the ISD.”
The Irving police chief, whom Van Duyne called a “wonderful man,” has been receiving death threats, as have other police officers, teachers and school administrators.
Jim Hanson, a former Special Forces Sergeant and Vice President of the Center for Security Policy, was also on the program stating that, “the Mohamed family were members of a mosque tied to an Irving Sharia Tribunal which Mayor Van Duyne had publicly opposed.”
Hanson called upon his Special Forces training in analyzing the event: “I don’t think there’s any question that this latest event was a PR stunt, it was a staged event. I’ve built briefcase bombs and blown them up, that’s what they look like.”
Was this a “staged event?” What do you think of the revelation that Obama may have been tweeting “cool clock, kid” before pictures of the clock had been released? Share and comment below.
