(Before It's News)

Revenge went on a warped rampage of terror in Paris on Friday night, according to the words gunmen shouted as the slaughter of innocents began.

“This is for Syria, this is for Syria,” terrorists shouted before gunning down patrons at the Bataclan Theater.

Other witnesses reported similar words.

“What you are doing in Syria, you are going to pay for it now,” one of the gunmen shouted, a witness said.

Fox News reported that the attackers also shouted, “Allahu Akbar.”

Syria has been the site of an American-led coalition attacking ISIS. France began its first attacks against ISIS in September. News media accounts Friday night suggested the attack might have been in response to the killing of terrorist Jihadi John in Syria on Thursday.

American officials said Friday there have been no indications that the Paris attacks were the precursor of any terrorist attack on American soil.

American and European officials were reviewing records to determine if the attack had been planned in advance, but the New York Times reported Saturday that “there was no immediate indication that there had been suspicious chatter or other warning signs before the attack.”

ISIS claimed repressibility for the attack. Charlie Winter, a security analyst, told The Guardian “The question we have to ask is whether it was directed from higher up in the ranks of (ISIS) or whether it was eight supporters/members who were seeking to carry out an attack in its name as an expression of its support,” Winter says.

Even before ISIS issued statements taking responsibility for the attacks, its supporters were celebrating the attacks using the Twitter hashtag “Paris in fire.”

At least 125 people were thought to have been killed in the attacks, with at least 70 hostages killed in the theater alone. The attacks there began at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Paris time, and ended at 1 a.m. Saturday with the last of the terrorists shot down by French special forces.

“There were two or three Individuals—two for sure—who… started pulling blind with automatic weapons, one with a Kalashnikov,” one witness told Le Monde. “It lasted at least10, 15 minutes. They reloaded, they had all the time he needed. They charged three or four times… They fired pointing down with the butt on the shoulder… When the shooting stopped we took advantage of the lull to take the emergency exit, and there we saw lots of people on the street that were covered in blood, who had gunshot wounds.”

“I lay against the sound console,” a second witness told the paper. “Then 20-30 bullets were fired, they fired randomly. I saw assault rifles. I stepped on the body, there was blood. In the street there were dead.”
