Trump Just Revealed The 2 Words ‘We’re All Going To Be Saying’ If He Becomes Pres.- Some Will Hate It
Donald Trump promised Monday that if elected president, he will vanquish the Grinch of political correctness.
Trump, speaking to a crowd in Springfield, Ill., ruminated to the voters about the changes made in Starbucks’ annual holiday cups, which have been stripped of any of the usual Christmas designs.
“Did you read about Starbucks? No more ‘Merry Christmas’ on Starbucks,” Trump told the crowd. “Maybe we should boycott Starbucks. I don’t know. Seriously, I don’t care.”
What matters to Trump is what he will do if elected.
“If I become president, we’re all going to be saying, ‘Merry Christmas’ again. That I can tell you,” he told the crowd.
Trump’s passion for saying “Merry Christmas” has been voiced along the campaign trail for weeks.
“I’m a good Christian,” Trump told an Iowa crowd last month. “If I become president, we’re gonna be saying Merry Christmas at every store …You can leave ‘Happy Holidays’ at the corner.”
Trump has said his use of “Merry Christmas” is deliberate.
“I go out of my way to use the word ‘Christmas,” he said. “There’s an assault on anything having to [do] with Christianity. They don’t want to use the word ‘Christmas’ anymore at department stores. There’s always lawsuits and unfortunately a lot of those lawsuits are won by the other side.”
Trump said that actions matter as well as words. On Monday, he noted that Starbucks operates a store in one of his buildings. “That’s the end of that lease, but who cares?” he said.
Trump’s attitude toward Christmas highlights a difference between him and President Obama. In 2011, the official White House Christmas card made no mention of the word Christmas and did not show a Christmas tree. Instead, it used a picture of Bo, the Obama family dog, and read, “May your holidays shine with the light of the season.”
