Behind Beyonce’s glittering Super Bowl halftime pandering to glorify the Black Panthers is an ugly truth finally being revealed.
After the halftime show, Beyonce’s troupe — sporting Black Panther berets and giving the black power salute — were photographed around a sign held by one dancer that read, “Justice 4 Mario Woods.”
Woods was shot to death by San Francisco police in December after refusing to surrender when they tried to arrest him. Now, the man Woods assaulted has come forward to refute the Black Lives Matter contention that Woods never stabbed anyone.
Michael Gardner, 26, said he was sitting in a car “smoking weed” with two women, one of whom had a child with her. A man he later knew to be Woods who was “agitated and just a little bit paranoid” came near the car.
“He was just muttering and then in one minute he started zoning in on the car,” Gardner said. “He was shouting and screaming and said, ‘You had better get away from here. This is my block.’”
“Then he started circling the car like a shark and the girls began tripping out. They were on their phones and one girl was talking to her baby daddy and about what he was going to do and I guess he heard it,” Gardner said.
The attacker then opened the car door. Gardner pushed it open wide and confronted the attacker on the street.
“I asked what was going on, but he already had the knife out,” Gardner said. “He ran up on me and tried to swing on me towards my chest and neck area. I tried to land a punch and I felt a nick in my arm. My shirt just turned red and I could see the blood coming out.”
At first, Gardner ran into an alley.
“Blood was gushing out and the ladies were screaming, ‘Oh my god, oh my god,’” Gardner said, saying he then got back in the car.
The attacker “jumped out in the middle of the street with the knife in his hand. The girls were screaming like lunatics,” Gardner said. They drove off.
While they were heading toward at San Francisco Hospital, a 911 call was made to police, who responded and found Woods, who was shot 21 times by police.
Meanwhile, the police interviewed Gardner. “All the police had told me was that they had got the knife, and I had started putting pieces of the puzzle together, but nobody had told me Mario had been shot dead,” he said.
“After I had seen the video, I realized that this was going to blow up in my face,” said Gardner, who said he was afraid for his safety and went into hiding before emerging to tell his story.
