The Donald has sworn off bad language.
At a Thursday night rally in Baton Rouge, La., Trump said he would clean up his act. His change of heart came a day after a focus group of South Carolina voters was shown on video cringing at some of Trump’s language on the campaign trail. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., had also criticized Trump’s language.
Rubio criticized Trump saying, “Even in our political culture, I teach my kids to be respectful. There are certain words you don’t say. No matter what setting you’re in, act with dignity … and then you turn on the TV and you have a presidential candidate saying profanity from a stage.”
“I’m not sure a lot of voters are excited about having a president who when he gets rattled, when he gets upset, begins cursing, begins using vulgarities,” Cruz said.

On Thursday, Trump made his vow after first railing against political insiders.
“We have hacks, I know some of them. They are political hacks, they get their job,” Trump said. Then he paused, seeming to want to add something to that thought. Instead, he changed direction.
“I won’t use foul language,” he said next.
“They’re all saying, ‘Do it, do it,’” Trump said. “No, I’m not. That’s better, right?”
“Even if it’s not a bad word, if it’s a little bit off they kill me, so I won’t do it,” he added. “I’ll never do it again, actually and I’ll never even copy what somebody asks me to say.”
Earlier on Thursday, Trump had told a New York City radio station he would change his tune.
“I went to the best school. I was the best student,” Trump said on In the Morning on WOR 710. “I do this for effect.”
“As we get closer, you will be shocked at how presidential I will be,” he said. “You will be very proud of me.”
If Trump will drop the foul language, he’s clearly not planning to drop his trademark bluntness. Thursday, Trump took a shot at the Rev. Al Sharpton, who wet on Wednesday with Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt.
“With Al, it’s a con job, everybody understands,” Trump said, noting he had a “good relationship” with Sharpton. “I’m amazed he gets away with it.”
