Geomagnetic Storm Continues. The persistent coronal hole stream, currently around 700 km/s continues to stream past our planet and fuel an ongoing geomagnetic storm. Minor (G1) storming will likely persist during the next 24 hours. Sky watchers at high latitudes should stay alert for visible aurora.
WEEKEND STORMS: A minor G1-class geomagnetic storm is underway on Oct. 29th as Earth continues to pass through a stream of high-speed solar wind.
G1 (MINOR) GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH FOR OCTOBER 29TH. A G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watch is valid for 28 and 29 Oct 2016 (UTC day) due to persistent coronal hole high speed stream effects. Solar Wind Speed: 704 km/sec. Solar Wind Magnetic Fields: Bt 6 nT, Bz 5 nT
