Tesla’s CEO has taken to Twitter to defend its Model S sedan after a Consumer Report’s bad review caused the company’s stock to fall more than 11 percent earlier this week.
CEO Elon Musk, in a tweet Thursday, called the report into question.
“Consumer Reports reliability survey includes a lot of early production cars. Already addressed in new cars,” he tweeted.
“Tesla gets top rating of any company in service. Most important, CR says 97 percent of owners expect their next car to be a Tesla (the acid test).”
A report earlier this week from Consumer Reports said the publication could no longer recommend the vehicle because it had “a worse-than-average overall problem rate.”
Consumer Reports also stated problems included “the drivetrain, power equipment, charging equipment, giant iPad-like center console, and body and sunroof squeaks, rattles, and leaks.”
The review, as Reuters reported, was based on survey responses from 1,400 owners.
However, on Twitter, it seemed most Model S owners had nothing but good things to say about the vehicle.
