Facebook has launched a camera chock-full of special effects that you can access with a simple swipe or a tap.
Facebook Camera enables you to add visual details to completely customize your photos and videos.
“We want to make it fast, fun and easy for people to share creative photos and videos with whomever they choose, for however long they choose— and the more we share with each other, the more open and connected our community can be,” Facebook product manager Connor Hayes said in a blog post. “We’re starting to roll out a new camera with effects and two additional ways to share the photos and videos you take.”
The new in-app camera, which is compatible with both iOS and Android, enables you to tap on the camera icon on the top left corner of the Facebook app or swipe from your News Feed to use it.
Facebook Camera offers a number of effects like masks, frames and interactive filters that you can add to your images and video clips.
“Reactive effects let you interact with dynamic objects— like falling snow—and style effects apply an artistic filter to your video in real time, letting you turn your everyday selfie into a Picasso-style work of art,” Hayes said.
Facebook is teaming up with a number of brands to create movie-inspired masks. Some of the upcoming movies include Alien: Covenant, Despicable Me 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Power Rangers, Smurfs: The Lost Village and Wonder Woman.
The in-app camera will also include guest art from artists such as Douglas Coupland and Hattie Stewart.
Facebook Camera is rolling out to all users this week.
