– full on nuclear war
– EMP bursts from a high altitude nuclear burst, like North Korea now is capable of delivering
(maybe already has in place with the “silent” satellite)
– CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) causing breakdown of the electrical grid
– hit or near miss by an asteroid or rogue planet
– homeland attack by “ISIS”, Levant or whatever they’re called these days
– total economic collapse and resultant breakdown of law and order
