Editor’s note: The Epoch Times here publishes direct translations of statements made by Chinese people in renouncing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its subordinate organizations. Statements such as these are submitted to a website affiliate of the Chinese version of The Epoch Times, Dajiyuan. The movement to renounce, withdraw from, or quit the CCP, called “Tuidang” in Chinese, began in late 2004, soon after The Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Part, an editorial series that explores the nature and history of the CCP. The statements offer a rare and candid glimpse of history in the making. The Chinese people are turning their backs on the Communist Party, choosing conscience over convenience, and peacefully ushering in a future China, free of Party rule.
The following is a selection of edited Tuidang (“quitting the Party”) statements made by Chinese nationals on July 4, 2012.
I am an office clerk. It has only been two years since I was compelled to join the Party. After I realized how corrupt the CCP is, I knew my only hope to free myself from it is by quitting the CCP as soon as possible.

I am 82 years old. I was a former soldier in the Eighth Route Army during the Civil War (1927–1950). I experienced hails of bullets fighting for the vicious Party, but never did I get any money or compensation from it. Today I have realized that I have to choose right from wrong and face my new life. It’s inevitable that Heaven will punish the Chinese Communist Party… I announce that I withdraw from all the communist organizations. As a senior citizen, I hope to see the collapse of the Communist regime with a big smile. May China’s true renaissance come soon!

Misled by my school teachers, I was compelled to join the Youth League. Until now I haven’t figured out what kind of organization it is. I can only tell there are no human rights, freedom of thought, and even the right to live in a society ruled by the communist regime. Now complaints are heard in all parts of the country. Chinese people have no way to make a decent living. Government officers practice corruption and do all manner of evil deeds. Officials take no notice of the territory being carved up by foreign nations, and shamelessly bribe their superiors. In order to keep steady and secure political power, the government resorts to violence and further stirs up outrage from the people. How can this stupid, violent and unjust regime survive for so many decades? Does it result from the disappearance of all conscience, or is it because the dark clouds shielded the sky? I am sorrowful for the five thousand years of Chinese culture being destroyed by this rogue regime. I only hope my fellow citizens will awaken soon. Only when conscience is rooted in the heart of common people can all the Chinese people be saved.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is hopelessly corrupt. May the Communist Party collapse! The CCP is the root cause of all the sufferings of the Chinese people. I voluntarily withdraw from the CCP!

I am a cab driver in China. Although I work nearly around the clock, being terribly exploited by the CCP, I still live from hand to mouth. People have no way to make a living and Chinese society is in a disastrous state under the rule of the Communist Party. I hereby announce that I quit the Young Pioneers that I joined before. May God witness this solemn moment.

I was born into a so-called “revolutionary” family and was always proud of my background. In order to devote myself to the country, I studied very hard when I was a student. However, after I graduated from school and began working I gradually realized the nature of the Chinese Communist Party. I realized all the official propaganda and the education I received were being used to cheat and fool the Chinese people. The CCP’s policies are more and more against the will of the Chinese people. Whatever people actually need or support is considered illegal and whatever people oppose will be strongly implemented. The Communist Party completely disregards people’s lives and their needs and requirements. We definitely can not count on the Communist regime to achieve anything for Chinese people; it only serves itself. This so-called world’s largest Party has completely become the enemy of the people!
Today is July 4th, the United States Independence Day. On this special day I hereby announce that I quit the CCP and all its affiliated organizations.

We had an opportunity to visit Europe, and we use this opportunity to whole-heartedly withdraw from the evil Communist Party’s Young Pioneer organization, which we were forced to join. We believe we have chosen the best future for ourselves.

Ever since I learned to break through the CCP’s Great Firewall and read overseas websites, I gradually learned of the cruelty and violence of the Chinese Communist bandits and how they have harmed Chinese people. I feel shamed that I joined the Party. Today I firmly withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party.
