If you are looking for vegetarian/vegan friendly travel in Asia, visit Singapore! This post is mainly an excuse to share all the delicious food I ate there over Spring Festival:
吃素的朋友门会热爱新加坡的美食!这帖子只算给我个借口分享一下我在新加坡的食品图片呵呵
*Mostly* veg dim sum. Giant plate of vegetables like the one below go for less than $5 SG at the food courts dotting the city
A dosa love affair…
No shortage of veg options in Little India….
….with mobile assistance if you missed the giant vegetarian sign:
even the airport food had awesome healthy affordable vegetarian choices (this one $7 SG):
Some of Singapore’s high-end grocery stores are taking customer education to a new level, information is power!
Vegan pancakes with filling, not super healthy but like the FYI:
Slightly unrelated to food. Props to Singapore’s CUGE (Center for Urban Greenery and Ecology) for integrating greenery into the city’s buildings.
Such a brilliant and delicious concept, soy fruit smoothies, soy fro-yo, natural soymilk etc. All conveniently located next to the subway near my hostel.
More Mr. Bean… (soy frozen yogurt $2.50 SG)
Just a typical school lunch at Singapore’s American school:
Low-sugar mango 绵绵冰 (shaved ice) with toasted almonds at the beach:
Grabbing some freshly squeezed juice at the bazaar, ~$1-2 SG
More paper dosas, gluten free! ~$4 SG
Exploring the world of ginger at the Singapore botanical museum, apparently bananas are technically a type of ginger?
Food courts dotting the city serve up hearty set meals for < $10 SG.
On a totally different subject, one of the quirkier aspects of life in Singapore. The government never misses an opportunity to remind you to DO THE RIGHT THING OR ELSE!
