US candidate to run IPCC says rich nations must help steer the world away from coal. The developed world has a responsibility to make renewable energy more attractive and help poorer nations step away from coal-based power generation, said an American scientist who is in the running to head the world’s premier scientific body on climate change.

 

Scientists get tool to mark online climate science media coverage and it’s not a rusty teaspoon. A new project has already scored the “scientific credibility” of climate science stories on CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian and Daily Telegraph.
