With all the new innovations in caffeinated drinks, it seems it is initially answered with "Hot" or "Cold"…one of the extremes. But how often do you hear "Lukewarm, please"??? Not too often, but when it comes to deciding on following your faith in Christ, this is a common indirect answer. It’s a struggle that I face as a 21-year old college student going through many trials at this age (and I am sure there’s more to come once the REAL world hit haha). As I decide to go one way, and then at other times go the ‘other route’, I tend to have a ‘sway’ in my life. I am in a gray area, in a lukewarm state. While being indecisive and not having a concrete mind set might end up with a lukewarm coffee (or drink of preference) that may be alright to your liking, it will not put you in the right set with God. Correct me if I am wrong, but through Malachi, God had preached to the Israelites about their "lukewarm" faith and half-hearted practices of worship. Although God was angered and offended with the intentional meager and poor quality of sacrifices and offerings, he still offered a chance of redemption(Malachi 3 and 4) .
As men and women, young and old, we are taught right from wrong, but sometimes we get the impression of how good that doing wrong can please the body. But not the spirit. It’s a constant struggle, and we should surround ourselves with positive reinforcements. With tomorrow not promised, it would seem the best route to turn our lives over to God, receive His blessings (and don’t take them for granted) and follow "whole-heartedly" as much as possible.
I ask the CBC family to pray for me and people in similar situations, that are almost there, but are in a lukewarm state. Please assist us with the push to make our final decision. Let us see past the reasons, excuses and taking things for granted in order to fully acknowledge our Lord, His blessings, and apply His love to our daily lives.
So, how are you taking your coffee/tea/beverage today?
This is my first blog, as well as a representation of what I go through, so I would love any feedback that you have to offer. Thanks.
