Richard Land the Plagiarist: Top SBC Ethicist Stirs Up Controversy With Someone Else’s Rant

More Plagiarism From Head of Southern Baptist Ethics Agency

Be sure your sin will find you out, Richard!

More on Richard Land’s plagiarism:

Richard Land, Southern Baptist Head Ethicist, Is a Plagiarist?

It’s a little hard to believe that the deception wasn’t intentional when Land shows that he knows how to identify sources in other instances.

But, hey, Southern Baptists, this is great news for you!  Apparently you can carry on however you want in your personal life as long as the truth is on your website!  Sure, you didn’t tell that gal you were flirting with at the bar that you have a wife, but your Facebook status clearly shows that you are married.  Or, yes, you spent the bill money on comic books without telling your husband, but he would have known if he followed you on Twitter!

Quite so.  What is most telling is that Land has now ‘apologised’ without admitting the deception.  Instead, he is labelling his plagiarism as a mere “oversight.”  In other words, the Southern Baptists’ chief “ethicist” (he is president of the SBC’s ETHICS & Religious Liberty Commission) is clearly not repentant at all.  Then again, repentance is only for theological liberals, don’t ya’ know?
