(Before It's News)

SAN ANTONIO 9 Aguust 2012 (ACNS) – The ecclesiastical coat of arms of the Auxiliary Bishop-Elect of the Southwest, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ryan M. Lozano, was officially released today. Msgr. Lozano, who currently serves as Prefect for the Liturgy and teaches as a philosophy professor, was appointed as Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of the Southwest in January and will be consecrated to the episcopate in November.

The Bishop-Elect’s arms, seen below, are of his branch of a Spanish comital family. He chose as his personal motto the motto of the Archdiocese of the Southwest, Ex Opere Operato. On top of the shield is the golden mitre of an auxiliary, and behind the shield are two bishop’s crosiers. Surmounting the entire arms is the green episcopal galero with six tassels on each side denoting the Monsignor’s rank as a bishop.
