(City Seal: Wikipedia)
From WND FrontPage:
Phoenix officials have until next Friday to apologize for the actions of a code enforcement officer after he stopped Christians from giving out water bottles to city festival participants on a day that reached 112 degrees.
A legal team that fights for religious and civil rights is also demanding a commitment that the city will no longer interfere with the Christian group’s acts of charity.
Response: I guess officials in Phoenix, AZ must not appreciate what Jesus taught about giving water:
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” –Matt. 10:42
This is the second time in recent months that city administrators have shut down a ministry due to city regulations. In this case they are demanding that a Christian charity get a business license and permit to give away water as part of a street ministry? Ridiculous, but not nearly as offensive as putting a minister and father of six in jail for hosting a home Bible study. *Top
