This poem was inspired by the feeling of never being worthy of the Lord calling to priesthood or religious life, yet our peace comes from accepting the Lord's wisdom and not our own.
Vocation is a calling and an accepting, a gentle voice of beckoning from the Lord of Life, a prompting to see the road ahead as one chosen by him for your life. Resisting that calling can sometimes come from a feeling of unworthiness, but if the Lord calls, he does so because he has a plan for our lives. Not knowing the future, we are called to a deeper trusting in God's wisdom and so we fall back upon trust and when we can trust, we can let go of worrying and embrace his calling with enthusiasm and confidence, knowing that as the Lord calls, he will accompany our every step!
