India in Disarray Over Global Warming Strategy. Researchers in India say its action on climate change is suffering because, unlike China, it has not developed the institutions needed to co-ordinate policy. After the progressive presidential candidate spoke to 12,000 students, faculty and administrators at Liberty University, a stronghold of political and religious conservatism, a man who calls himself an alumnus of the school and an evangelical leader told listeners that the candidate’s policies are an embodiment of Christian values.

 

The abandoned plan that could have saved America from drought. Ralph Parsons, the wealthy founder of a wildly successful international engineering firm, was trying to end the Southern California drought — forever. It was 1961.
