Land degradation costs the world up to $10.6tn a year, report says. Land degradation is costing the world as much as $10.6tn every year, equivalent to 17 percent of global gross domestic product, a report has warned.

 

Nearly half the world’s marine species wiped out in single generation. Humanity’s mismanagement of the ocean has led to the loss of almost half the world’s marine mammals, birds, reptiles and fish in a single generation, a World Wide Fund for Nature report says.
