The Apocalypse is Here… At Least in the US
While the rest of the free world is disarming itself, Americans are buying more guns than ever out of fear that one, Obama will take them away, and two, it's the ONLY protection against terrorism that the government can't seem to control. I wanted to know prior to December 21, 2012 as to what exactly would happen on that date. Did the Mayans know something? The only signficant event that I could tell that happened on that date was the National Rifle Association's response to the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut. Basically, the NRA's response was to put more guns in the hands of teachers and administrators. It would seem now that Americans are taking the law into their own hands believing that Obama and his people won't protect Americans.
Donald Trump is feeding those fears getting support from people who fear what they do NOT know. Very likely, his supporters have never met a Muslim person. Some might wonder if indeed I have. In fact, I know a number of Muslims personally and I don't feel threatened by ANY of them. Why? They are Americans just as I am an American. They don't accept radical Islam and NEVER will. But then these people won't carry guns either. It's not that they can't get weapons, there simply are enough Americans that simply say we won't carry a gun. We leave it to the authorities to protect us and in our thinking the authorities aren't cowboys licensed to carry guns. In fact, I am thinking that a robber with a gun just might be less likely to kill me if I do what I am told than for some “cowboy” confronting him with a gun. I don't want to get in the crossfire of a “good” guy with a gun and a bad buy with a gun. But I don't think of Muslims as the bad guys. I think of American homegrown terrorism as being more of a problem than immigrants coming to this country to blow it up.
My point is that Armageddon is here. What the Mayans didn't know is how long this period would last. I don't know either. But I fear getting in the crossfire of good guys with guns and bad guys with guns than I fear terrorism itself. Islamic extremists would prefer the free world live in fear. They want to take our freedoms from us. Some people believe the ONLY way to prevent this is to express that freedom by buying guns. I don't believe there is freedom in living in a fortress. I think freedom is going where one wishes to go without any fear whatsoever. I refuse to be afraid because very simply I don't fear death. My thinking is whether I live or die, I win. But to many people who own guns dying is losing. It is if they purposely take a Human Life and MY thinking is, I hope they never have to use their guns, especially on themselves. Peace.
