Mystery of the Trinity

The notion of one God and yet three persons is a nonsensical statement. It is taught that there are three distinct persons that make up this mystery of the trinity. If they all are God and indeed three distinct persons, then there are three Gods.

 mystery of the trinity

The mystery of the trinity is revealed as yet another man made doctrine of deception.

1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

There is no real mystery of the trinity; God was manifest in the flesh, and revealed to the world as Jesus the Christ. Christ always was, is, and will forever be God.

Although one could refer to the manifestation of Jesus in the flesh as a person, keep in mind he is unlike any other. He was not created from the seed of man, was sinless and had the power to rise from the dead unassisted (John 10:18). When one adds Christ to the name of Jesus however, the mystery of the trinity dissolves. Christ is not a person, but is God, and God can’t die.

John 4:24 God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.

The carnal mind is in opposition against God, for it has not submitted to the law of God, nor can it (Romans 8:7). It is this carnal mind that creates the mystery of the trinity.

1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

People generally speaking are attracted to the wisdom of men, especially those who have graduated from a theological seminary or college. Many religious leaders speak of the mystery of the trinity, or use words such as hermeneutics, exegesis or trinitarian theology. Congregations become enamored with the supposed superior spiritual intellect of these leaders, and their ostentatious words.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

It is the institution of the Holy Spirit whereby we are taught to rightly divide the Word of Truth, enabling us to then share these truths with others. God does this and not man.

 mystery of the trinity

Instead of receiving a diploma from a man made institution of deception, true followers of Christ are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Eph 1:13). Our graduation ceremony is when Christ returns with our Salvation, and says well done faithful servant (Math 25:21).

1 Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Too many people readily accept the mystery of the trinity doctrine as an essential teaching because self proclaimed ministers say it is so. Without the teaching of the Holy Spirit, men speak with their own wisdom which is dangerous and destructive.

The simple believes every word but the wise considers all things (Prov 14:15; Rom 16:18).

The genesis of the mystery of the trinity may be as a result of the obvious mistranslation from a verse many are familiar with. God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.

When one removes the inserted words, let us and our, the verse takes on a completely different meaning.

One singular God spoke, not many Gods or persons.

The so-called mystery of the trinity does not add clarity to the nature of God, and it certainly diminishes the essence and Glory of Jesus.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The first use of the word and (G 1161) in the above verse is used correctly, as it is a continuative. The second use of the word and (G2352) should be translated as even, also or indeed, as it is a connector. The words thou hast, need to be completely removed from this verse as well.

The correct interpretation of this verse is as follows.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, even Jesus Christ, whom is sent forth.

The only True God is also known as Jesus Christ, the Word and our Messiah.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with (or unto) God, and the Word was God.

All things were made by Jesus who is the Word. In Christ alone is the Light unto Life, but those in darkness comprehend it not.

The following is typical of those that believe in the mystery of the trinity:

When we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and this is the earnest or down payment unto our Salvation.

mystery of the trinity

Eph 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.

Through the Holy Spirit of God, we are sealed unto the day of redemption, which is our Salvation.

2 Cor 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

It is the Spirit of Christ that dwells in the temple of the Elect. If we are to believe the mystery of the trinity, then the Holy Spirit is not just one person but many persons.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

The spirit of this world is unto confusion, as is this manmade doctrine of a mystery of the trinity.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Now this mystery of the trinity gets really confusing. According to the verses above Christ dwells in us as does the Father who raised Him up. But once again we have words added to take away from who Christ is. The words of him that, and he that, are inserted incorrectly, in Romans 8:11. Christ laid down His life in the flesh, and raised it up again Himself (John 10:17).

The message in this verse is that if the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, this same Spirit of Christ will give life to your mortal bodies, at the last day (John 6:39-40, John 11:24).

1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The Mystery of the Trinity is unto confusion

1 Cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Christ clearly refutes the doctrine of this apparent mystery of the trinity when he declared “I and the Father are One” (John 10:30).

2 Cor 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The word face also is interpreted as appearance, presence and countenance. God was manifest in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16).

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Col 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.

Is this verse describing yet another variation of the mystery of the trinity, God and the Father and Christ? The word and, is used twice in this verse incorrectly. The Greek word kai, has a meaning of even so or also, and it is a connector.

The verse is speaking of the “knowledge of the mystery (of) God (who is) Christ”. This is a far superior translation from the Interlinear Bible, and there is no mention of a mystery of the trinity implied.

2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water.

 mystery of the trinity

By the Word of God, who is also the Word of Life, all things were created. Jesus spoke the world into existence; the father is not mentioned in reference to the creation in Genesis.

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life.

The following two verses are used to support the theory of a mystery of the trinity; however it is clear that the Father, Word, Son and Holy Spirit are one.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

1 Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and (G2532) Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope.

Paul (who is) an apostle of Christ Jesus, according to the command of God (the) Savior of us, (Who is) also Christ Jesus the hope of us (1 Tim 1:1 Interlinear Bible).

2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved (saves) us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

The mystery of the trinity at the hands of the false teachers deny that there is but one Lord God, who is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, (who is) also our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • I was having a little trouble tracking with you. In ernest I have pondered the claim that there is no trinity, but the Word is too convincing in favor of God’s three part nature. Just so I understand
So do you believe that the Holy Spirit is another god? or that he is not a God at all? Who indwells you?

Just doing a search for the Holy Spirit should allow a number of verses to get through without error, reinforcing the possibility that God is in tree persons but still One.
Just in the OT I came across four verses that conclude the Yahwey God has a Spirit which he pours out on His people.

Isaiah 59:21“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you …
Isaiah 44:3 … I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring …
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
Ezekiel 39:29… I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
Joel 2:28 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people…

    Thanks for explaining

    • Are you seeking to explain the difference between man’s definition of the trinity and an interpretation that comes from God?

    • The Trinity Deception – Can the Great Awakening Occur even amidst Incredible Spiritual Apathy

Jesus spoke to the people through parables then, and continues to do so now!
The doctrines of men and all their manwords are not spiritual but carnal.

It is the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things, that comes from God.
Here are some key verses to pray about: ask the Spirit to reveal these mysteries:

1- Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16)
2- God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
3- The carnal mind is in opposition against God (Romans 8:7)
4- The things of the Spirit of God are spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2:14)
5- One singular God spoke, not many Gods or persons (Gen 1:26)
6- The only true God, (is) also Jesus Christ (John 17:3)
7- And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin (Rom 8:10)
8- The glory of God through the appearance of Jesus Christ
9- All things were made by Jesus who is the Word (John 1:1)
10- “I and the Father are One” (John 10:30).

Matt 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

As you consider the verse above keep in mind Abraham was not a father in the physical sense, but in the Spiritual, through the same Faith that is in Christ. Right now you are most likely thinking, hey hold on a minute Abraham believed upon Yahweh, and not upon Christ Jesus.

Latter on you will discover through the Word that Christ is indeed Yahweh. This revelation if understood will completely unravel the trinity deception. This article will be posted shortly.

The Trinity Deception really starts to crumble when we realize that God does not have a father, and Christ is indeed God.

Matt 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

If Jehovah is the father of Christ, how is it that mary conceived through the Holy Spirit. Would this not make the Holy spirit Christ’s father?

Matt 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

The trinity deception enables a matrix of doctrines to prevail in the minds of men.

One of these delusions gives acceptance to a religious group that claims albeit falsely to worship one of these persons of the godhead.
      • Judaism claims to know and thus follow their God who is Yahweh, and do not.
      • Anyone that denies that Jesus is the Christ is a liar. He is an antichrist that denies the Father (who is ) also the Son (1 John 2:22).
      • Christ clearly stated,” I and the Father are One” (John 10:30).
      • Jesus told them that if God truly was their Father, they would love Him (John 8:42)
      • Most who claimed to be of the tribe of Judah, did not recognize the Messiah, and this is still true today.
      • The genesis of judaism most definitely is from the same spirit of deception that was prevalent at the time of Christ’s advent (Mat 22:2-39).
      • They are without an excuse. Mary gave birth to a son called Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (Matt 1:23).

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The fathers of the chief priests, scribes and the elders of the people killed the prophets. These self-righteous false judeans, who were of their father the devil, conspired to kill Jesus. They thought in doing so the inheritance would be theirs (Mat 23:30-38, Mat 21:38).

The parable of the vineyard in Mark chapter twelve describes these murderous hypocrites, and the punishment reserved for them.

Jesus declared their house to be desolate, and it remains in this condition today (Mat 23:38).
Before Christ, sacrifices were made for the sins of the people. After Christ however, there remains no covering for sin apart from his shed blood.

      • …THE GREAT ‘AWAKENING’…is in progress. right now….If you don’t feel it and see it, then you are not in tune. Your spirituality will be defined, by the coming events, and your reactions.

      • Can you answer my questions.

  • I am not surprised you have the gall to challenge the scriptures. I am surprised you chose the trinity of all things to challenge…

Its rather simple to understand… There are three separate persons in the Godhead: God, the Eternal Father; his Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost. The Father and the Son had tangible bodies of flesh and bone and that the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit that interacts with your consciousness.

Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

why are you surprised — the false doctrine of a trinity was not approved by Rome until the 4th century when the catholic church decided it sounded like a good idea. It was borrowed from the pagans.

Look it up — the catholic church admits it openly.

All the scripture that appears to point to a trinity was added and most not until after the first 1000 years.

The Father and the Son are ONE — no spirit is included in the ONE.

      • The Catholic Church is not the origin of the trinity. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is.

        • Gordon

“The Catholic Encyclopedia admits the Trinity is not biblical,”

Catholic authority says that the Trinity “is not . . . directly and immediately [the] word of God.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia.

The Catholic Encyclopedia comments: “In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word τρίας [tri′as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180.”

The New Catholic Encyclopedia also says: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the O[ld] T[estament].”

Update : The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) discusses the Trinity at length and admits:

“The Trinitarian dogma is in the last analysis a late 4th-century invention”

The formulation of ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century.”
