Every day, each and every one of us makes life and death decisions. One might wonder how this is if indeed we aren't involved in some way with life and death. We not only make decisions about letting every human being live, but at ANY given point in time, we COULD make a decision that would end our own lives. At ANY point in time, we can change our minds in deciding who will live and just who will die. Whenever there is a death in this world, a life either has been taken by the Hand of God or by some act of another person. Whenever a person takes his or her own life, he or she has decided that his or her life is NOT worth living any longer. God praises us when we allow HIM to choose and God condemns us when we make the choice as to whether anyone lives or dies. I have been saying that we are ALL born saved and we lose our salvation once we have chosen to end the life of another or choose to end our own lives. Most anyone in the context of most any religion can't and won't accept such thinking. But I say that beliefs don't matter to God. It's what one chooses to do with what one believes.
So, what does God then have to do with humanity? My thinking about God at this point is a lot like that of an Atheist who doesn't believe in a Supreme Being anyway. I can't go back either some thousands of years or billions of years and try to figure out how God put it all in motion. But this is what He did. He set up the universe as it is and then throughout history of all humanity, He has allowed EVERY person to make life and death decisions every second of EVERY single day. This is all He has done. It's the activity of Satan that rules this world. He motivates ALL Human Beings to make choices about life and death that only belong to God and to God only. Death is as natural to life as life is to life. The moment we are born we are destined to die. Meanwhile, we search for the meaning of life with some finding meaning in a personal relationship with God or searching for ways to make life meaningful not only for ourselves, but for others as well. Some people find meaning in any number of ways from the sexual to alcohol and drugs. Some people find meaning in a church. Some people find meaning in families. And some people will never find the meaning of life until they are on their deathbed or choose not to live any longer. We make those choices. God does NOT make those choices for us. In fact, I would go so far to suggest that God has put the world in motion and He allows us to make all the life and death choices we can throughout our lives. The meaning of life then is found in life itself. We find meaning when we choose life and allow ALL others to live. Only Satan knows whom he will choose to do his work.
But CAN God intervene in some dramatic fashion? I say this is what God did with me. But I don't know why He doesn't do the same for ALL people. I say I was chosen before I was born, but while many are called, very few are actually chosen. I am one of the latter, but to this day my thinking has been that I am not sure God chose correctly. In my thinking only time will tell, while at the same time, this is true for all. Peace.
