Terror will not win
A blind fury, plotting in dark corners of suburban rooms, spitting tales of discrimination, while practising a vile campaign of intimidation: A deluded rhetoric from a homegrown generation, a chaos theory initiated, as terror walks the streets, with blooded knifes sharpened by hate sermons; peddling distorted goals, where God is humanised, stripped of divinity, recreated in an image of crude destruction, justifying a creed of ignorance, and championing intolerance. The terrorist wants your fear, feeds on your despair, delights as you curl into a ball, and weep for what is ripped from you, forever lost and gone from sight. Do not feed them, starve the hatred with a diet of your precious love, hold your head high, engage in the everyday acts of the ordinary, for terror will not win, because love won’t concede defeat, and will never give in.

Watching the terrible events yesterday in London, a shiver of sadness descended, the weather was colder, and the world seemed a darker place, darker than usual. The homegrown terrorist wants to create fear and an environment of suspicion and intolerance. I wrote the following because I believe in love, and I worship the God of unconditional love, who does not demand I kill another, to somehow win his love for me. I pray for the victims of terror: May the dead rest in peace, their families be surrounded by love; and those who have been hurt may they heal quickly and receive the help and support they need. And may the violence that exists in hearts tainted by radicalism, be replaced by a desire for peace. May love win the day.
