NASA Takes Another Step Toward Replicator With 3D Printing In Space

How many times have we wanted to walk into our kitchen in the morning and say, “Computer, omelet”, and be presented with a hot, cheesy omelet?

Or better yet, you are out in the garage and realize you do not have the spark plug wires to finish your tune up. So, you call out, “Computer, 8.5mm spark plug wire set” and you are presented with that exact part.

Sounds like science fiction, right? Well, such technology may become a reality fairly soon. It seems that NASA is trying to replicate (no pun intended) the Star Trek technology through the use of 3-D printing in space.
