Late post today, but I finished out May with just over 27k. Not as high as I’d like, not as low as it could be, so…I’ll take it. Not quite 3k of that was plotting.
I am 2.5 scenes away from the end of Know Me Well. I had hoped to knock it out by today but I had evil day job stuff, lost a huge chunk of my Saturday to finally replacing the dishwasher, and spent a huge chunk today marathoning Outlander with my girlfriends. This week, though.
So…the Outlander finale. That was brutal. My girls and I were eating our feelings. There was vodka (that we never actually cracked open, but it was mostly there for moral support just in case). We had to put on The Wedding episode afterward for therapy, and I’m still working my way through getting back to some happy. Sam Heughan was amazing. Apparently he had to get drunk after filming this, and God, I don’t blame him. And Tobias Menzies–serious acting chops. If there has ever been a character on a TV program or in a movie that is more reviled than Black Jack Randall, I don’t know who it is (probably someone from Game of Thrones). I actually feel kind of sorry for Tobias. Because people will probably spit on him in public and call him names because they can’t separate the character from the actor.
