(Before It's News)

The FBI has released Mass Victimization: Promising Avenues for Prevention, which is the result of a multi-agency collaborative conference that took place in August 2013. The report focuses on seven promising prevention strategies viewed through the lens of threat assessment, defined as “the set of investigative and operational techniques that can be used by law enforcement professionals to identify, assess, and manage the risks of targeted violence and its potential perpetrators.” Each promising prevention strategy is explored in depth and includes follow up questions to consider as well as resources.
