New York Man Accused of Attempted Murder Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Winston-Salem, NC

Greensboro, NC – On December 15, 2015, Aramani Llanos, 27, was arrested at approximately 11:30 AM by members of the United States Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) in Greensboro, NC. On August 3, 2015, the New York City Police Department conducted an investigation into an alleged shooting where the victim advised they were shot at by Llanos. An arrest warrant was issued by the New York City Police Department for Llanos for Attempted Murder.
On December 15, 2015, through investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force officers observed Llanos enter a vehicle in the vicinity of the 4100 block of Macarthur Street in Winston-Salem, NC. Once Llanos entered the vehicle, the vehicle traveled North on MacArthur Street. Authorities reacted quickly initiating a traffic stop on the vehicle. Subsequently, the driver placed their vehicle in reverse and struck an authority’s vehicle in an attempt to elude arrest. Members of the JFTF reacted immediately by pinning the suspect’s vehicle in place. Llanos was taken into custody after being removed from the back seat. The driver was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Government Official. Llanos and the driver of the vehicle were both transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center where they are being held on the alleged charges.
The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration Customs and Enforcement, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
