(Before It's News)

How Research and Technology Are Expanding Sexual Assault Kit Testing is a three-minute video that explains how research and development in technology have significantly improved the ability to process DNA evidence contained in sexual assault kits. These advances are helping law enforcement agencies realize the value and potential in DNA evidence. The National Institute of Justice and the FBI are working with agencies to process previously unsubmitted kits and find improved methods for collection and processing. The video is part of a series created by NIJ and the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Va. to describe the NIJ-FBI partnership to test sexual assault kits that have not previously been submitted to a forensics laboratory.
