Man Accused of Armed Robbery at Studio 6 Motel in Greensboro, NC Arrested by Task Force

Greensboro, NC – This morning at approximately 6:45am, James Franklin Oxendine, 35, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force out of Greensboro. On January 4, 2016, a warrant for arrest was issued for Oxendine by the Greensboro Police Department for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. The charge stemmed from an incident that took place at the Studio 6 Motel in Greensboro.
On December 20, 2015, at approximately 4:15pm, the Greensboro Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at 2000 Veasley Street in Greensboro. Upon arrival, officers learned that a victim was held up by gunpoint and was demanded to turn over the keys to their vehicle. Per authorities, the suspect took the victim’s vehicle and personal belongings valued at over $10,000.00 and then fled the scene. The suspect was later identified as Oxendine and the victim’s vehicle was recovered by officers of the Greensboro Police Department at a different location.
During the investigation, members of the JFTF developed information regarding Oxendine’s possible whereabouts. Their efforts paid off when the JFTF verified the information and arrested Oxendine without incident at 5503 Old Marlboro Road, Lot 4 in Sophia, North Carolina. Oxendine was transported to the Guilford County Jail where he is currently being held on the alleged charges.
The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration Customs and Enforcement, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
