San Antonio, TX – Brandon DeShawn Humes, 22, was arrested this morning by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF), Converse Police Department (CPD), and Live Oak Police Department (LOPD) in Live Oak, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) after Humes was indicted for murder.

On January 10, 2017, members of the LSFTF were contacted by members of the North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFTF) to assist in searching for Humes. Members of the LSFTF immediately initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Humes. Through investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force officers located Humes at a hospital located in the 12000 block of Judson Road in Live Oak, TX. Task force officers approached Humes, identified themselves, and took him into custody without incident.

On December 10, 2016, Humes and his girlfriend were allegedly involved in an argument that resulted in a deadly shooting at a home located in the 2500 block of Tar Heel Drive, on the south side of Fort Worth. Reports stated that the two were heard yelling at each other in an upstairs bedroom and then a gunshot was fired. Humes fled the home and the victim was later found deceased. After a thorough investigation by FWPD Homicide detectives, a warrant was issued for Humes’ arrest. Humes remained a fugitive on the run until he was arrested this morning in Live Oak.

Humes is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition back to Fort Worth.

Each officer in this case pursued this fugitive with the highest level of diligence, determination, and expertise until he was finally arrested.”
