Suspect Facing Sex Trafficking Charges

San Antonio, TX – Issac Williams, 30, was arrested Friday by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) in Miami, FL. Arrest warrants were issued pursuant to an investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), where it is alleged that Williams failed to appear in court and violated the conditions of his bond on pending charges involving trafficking persons under the age of 18.

Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) were contacted by DPS investigators for assistance in locating and apprehending Williams. Task force officers initiated an investigation and determined that Williams had previously fled to the Dominican Republic (DR). Task force officers coordinated with the USMS in Santo Domingo, DR and their Dominican law enforcement counterparts. Law enforcement authorities were able to locate and detain Williams in Cabarete, Puerto Plata, DR. Williams, a United States citizen, was presented before an immigration judge and determined to have no legal status to remain in the country. Williams was expelled from the Dominican Republic and formally arrested by the USMS in Miami, FL.

Williams is currently being held in custody without bond while awaiting extradition to Texas.

In August 2014, Williams was arrested in San Antonio on allegations of trafficking persons under the age of 18 for financial gain. He was subsequently released on bond and ordered to appear at all court proceedings. Williams allegedly failed to appear in court and violated the conditions of his bond when he absconded from supervision and fled the United States to avoid prosecution.

Williams tried to run, but with dedicated and hardworking police officers all over the world, he had nowhere to go.”
