Have you ever made popsicle stick bracelets? It’s an old-school craft that’s been around for a long time. For this project, I’m using craft sticks. They’re narrower and a little longer than a popsicle stick. You can get them at most craft stores.
To start with you soak your craft sticks in water. I soaked mine for about 3 hours. I might not have broken so many if I had soaked them longer but I’m impatient and 3 hours was long enough to wait. Once the sticks are pliable you carefully bend them into a bracelet shape. If you want a round bracelet you can bend the bracelet and set it inside a glass to dry. I wanted mine more oval shaped so I bent the stick and then used a binder clip to keep the shape.
I chose to paint my sticks silver. I love silver bangles and so I used Martha Stewart Craft Paint in Sterling Silver. Once the paint was dry, I used some vintage crochet thread to wrap the bracelets. Use a dab of craft glue on the inside of the bracelet and start wrapping.
