ETCETERAS: Spring Hutch with Touches of Pink
I’ve mentioned this before but I don’t have a mantel so I decorate this hutch in my dining room every season. This year I went with a color I’ve never used before – pink.
I had no intention of redecorating my hutch the other day. But I was at the grocery store and couldn’t resist these pink snapdragon plants on sale. Before I knew it, dishes and pops of pink were all over the dining room table and I was off and running.
I don’t have too many pink knick knacks but found this pretty hand painted plate in my cupboard. It’s actually one of my favorites but doesn’t make an appearance very often anymore since I’ve been on my white on white craze.
I made these faux cherry blossoms ages ago and dusted them off 
These pretty pink flowers are from a new bush in my garden. They’re called Wax Flowers and I’m so excited to start using them for projects and décor.
I filled a base with these wooden balls covered in Washi Tape. I made these a few years ago when I was a contributor for a Washi Book.
A little bowl of flowers and a tiny jar of seasoning adds a little more white and pink to the hutch.
This hand blown pink glass is my favorite. It’s the softest shade of pink. To keep the simple look I just added a tiny sprig of fern.
It’s fun to refresh a mantel or hutch and bring in the colors of the season. This entire look was created with pieces I own and two snap dragon plants. Total cost – $2.00.
