Compound butter seems to be very popular right now. I’ve been seeing gorgeous blends in magazines and online. Compound butter is a mixture of butter and, well, anything you choose. Common blends are herbs, chives, honey and the version I made, honey & cinnamon.
Whatever type of compound butter you choose to make will come together very easily. Start with good quality butter and let it soften to room temperature. Spread it on a piece of parchment paper and add the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll the parchment paper so that the butter forms a cylinder. Place in the refrigerator to harden.
The day I made this butter was about 90 degrees. I had to work really fast because everything was melting. But even the melting mess left on the parchment paper looks yummy to me.
