August 19, 2012 – PAPUA, NG – A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck the north coast of Papua, NG. The 6.2magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 77.3 km (48.0 miles). The epicenter of the earthquake was 104 km (64 miles) SSE of Angoram, Papua New Guinea. There have been no reports issued, as yet of damages or injuries. This is the second major earthquake to strike an inland region of the Pacific Ring of Fire in 48 hours. –The Extinction Protocol
