(Before It's News)

Earth remains under the influence of an October 5th coronal mass ejection (CME).  Currently, G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm level (Kp=6) is in progress. At G2 level high-latitude power systems may experience voltage alarms, long-duration storms may cause transformer damage, corrective actions to orientation may be required by ground control, HF radio propagation can fade at higher latitudes and changes are possible in drag affect orbit predictions.

Quiet to active geomagnetic levels are possible on October 10, due to the possible influence of a recurring coronal hole that is expected to move into a potentially geoeffective position.
