(Before It's News)

Kudos for Condi: Condoleezza Rice was once considered a possible front-runner in the vice presidential sweepstakes, and based on her speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, it was easy to see why. Delegates at the convention clearly loved the former secretary of state’s speech, giving her not one, not two, but three standing ovations. Moreover, she did it all while giving a relatively tame criticism of the Obama administration, not even using the president’s name once. Some say she even outshined the featured speaker of the night, VP candidate Paul Ryan. (Read more)

Brewer, who has clashed with Obama in the past, told MSNBC: “I know that if President Obama is elected in November, which I hope that he is, that he will be able to come together with all of us and come up with a solution and I believe he will secure our borders and therefore we can resolve all those other issues; it’s a simple matter.” To be clear, Brewer also stated the need for a new administration, so there’s no mistaking that she has not suddenly gone gaga over Obama. Video of the Day: Republican speakers told quite a few jokes on Day 3 of the GOP convention—or at least they attempted to. BuzzFeed compiled a video of the ones that, well, fell flat.
