Midwest corn production is at its lowest level in nearly two decades due to drought, forcing up the price of corn-based ethanol, Downstream Today reports. This is the same situation we alerted you to earlier this year. Ethanol prices have jumped nearly a third in recent months as the drought has taken effect. This intern affects the price of gas at the pump as the federal government requires gasoline to consist of at least 10% ethanol.
