(Before It's News)

by Tony Lee, Breitbart:

In 2011, Ted Cruz announced he was running for Senate on a conference call with bloggers before alerting the mainstream media; now Senator Cruz (R-TX), who appreciated and effectively used the new media as the backbone of his campaign, said on Saturday that the mainstream media no longer has a monopoly on information.

Speaking at CPAC, Cruz said “the world has changed” and “there are longer gatekeepers who get to decide what the American people get to hear and what they don’t get to hear.”

Cruz conceded mainstream outlets like ABC, NBC, CBS, and The New York Times are not “going to help spread” the message that conservative policy solutions have proven to work while liberal policies have failed people they were supposed to help.

“But we have something more powerful [than the mainstream media]… each and every one of you,” Cruz said. “We’re here because we’re not ready to give up on America.”
