from Boom Bust
Looks like the pulse of the US job market is slowing down. The latest jobs report show employers only added 126,000 jobs in the month of March compared to the 245,000 that were expected. Prior to March, it was quite a run for the US job market. The economy was adding on average about 200,000 jobs every month. In fact, this is the first time in 14 months the number has dropped below the 200 mark. Boom Bust guest host Ameera David weighs in.
Then, Ameera sits down with Dr. Kaveh Madani – professor of environmental management at Imperial College of London and researcher at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Madani tells us his thoughts on California Governor Jerry Brown’s executive action on the drought crisis and gives us his take on the best solutions.
After the break, Bianca gives us a look at some of the other top financial news stories making headlines including the Pentagon’s budget, Stanford University tuition, and a modernized credit score method.
Afterwards is Defining Moments, taking a look at the best comments made by our guests this week including David Merkel, Eswar Prasad, Gerald Posner, and Bryan Caplan.
And in The Big Deal, Ameera and Erin discuss Tesla and new tax breaks for yacht owners.
