Etta James was an incredible singer and a troubled genius. Associating her with the governance under which we suffer may seem like a stretch and a form of character assassination. Forgive me. I do not mean to demean Ms. James but this quote of hers describes our politicians so well:
When I look out at the people and they look at me and they’re smiling, then I know that I’m loved. That is the time when I have no worries, no problems.
Given her troubled life and career, it is understandable why Ms. James took solace in positive fan feedback. However, none of our pampered political class are under such hardships and there is no excuse for them feeling this way. Yet they govern in a way to solicit the same feedback.
