WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The most you can say at this point is that the Federal Reserve officials who were pushing for a rate hike next month still are pushing for a rate hike, even in light of this week’s market rout.
St. Louis Fed President James Bullard on Friday gave an interview in which he sounded pretty blasé about the rout in markets.
In an interview on Sirius XM, Bullard not only said the Fed needs to hike rates, but added he disagreed with the market’s gloomy outlook for the global economy.
Meanwhile, while Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker didn’t deliver a speech, his press office delivered a pretty revealing summary of his views for him.
