On Tuesday FoxNews did a short piece on Hillary Clinton tripping over a question posed by MSNBC reporter Chris Matthews – what’s the difference between a progressive Democrat and a Socialist
[insert]
Well, let me help her out, when I was young, I used to hang out at the P Street bookstore in Northwest Washington DC in the late 1960s.
That was the epicenter of the radical left in D.C. during the anti-Vietnam War years. Every form of anti-American literature known to humankind was there on full display.
Eventually, I figured out that nothing in that bookstore supported the advancement of civilized society, or decentralization of power, or increasing personal freedom – all the professed goals the left preaches on the street.
Those are actually the goals of populism.
The difference between a progressive democrat and a socialist – at the retail politics level – is nothing – zero.
They both believe in an oligarchy that talks power sharing on the street, but doesn’t really mean it. Fake democracy and fake power sharing is their middle name. No, the political hierarchy of the progressive is very small, very tight and very controlled.
Hillary is scared to death of the general public asking this question. I think it is probably THE most effective weapon we have.
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good day.
