I came across this quote a few years ago and it has stuck with me. Even though some days are long (even some years – smile), the years spent home educating our children are very short.
Take every opportunity to do as much as you can with each child you have. Use all your strength and energy whenever you can AND be purposeful in what you teach them.
I know when our oldest daughter graduated, I thought “Ah – I have so much more I wanted to teach her…” BUT the time was up.
Now, two of our daughters have graduated and we are on the home stretch with our last two daughters…. well, not really – there are a few years left, but I am once again, thinking the years are very short. Perhaps you are new to home educating your children and you are busy making home schooling work in your home….Perhaps you have been home schooling for a few years and have a few children you are teaching at home….Perhaps you are a veteran home educating parent and can see the years are very short, because you are getting close to the finish line…..
No matter who you are – take a moment today to look at your children and appreciate where they are at AND who they are becoming. Pray that God gives youinspiration for what needs to be done, strength to do it, and the wisdom to know how to do it.
Enjoy the journey of Home Education. Every day is worth it!
